But when you take a closer look, you’ll find there are some significant differences in engine power, fuel efficiency, cargo space, and pricing. Learn more in this CR-V vs. Outback comparison from Mike Whatley Honda.
The sticker price is often the first concern for Hammond-area SUV shoppers, and the fact that the Honda CR-V has a starting MSRP that is $1,495 less than the Outback could be a game-changer. Check out the price of the entry-level models of both SUVs below.
Prentiss drivers expect a compact SUV to not only provide plenty of get-up-and-go, but also deliver fuel efficiency to help them save at the pump. Compare the CR-V vs. Outback performance specs below.
Both the Honda CR-V and Subaru Outback offer seating for up to five passengers, and each vehicle also features 60/40-split folding rear seats, which allow you to configure the interior to maximize cargo space. The CR-V LX cargo capacity is 75.8 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down. The Outback only provides 75.7 cubic feet of cargo volume with the rear seats folded down. With all the seats in place, the new CR-V in the LX trim offers 39.2 cubic feet of cargo space, while the Subaru Outback provides a less generous 32.5 cubic feet.
It’s clear that the CR-V is more versatile, efficient, and affordable than the Subaru Outback, but the best way to find out if this Honda SUV is right for you is to take it out for a test drive.
