Performance Specs of the Redesigned 2023 Honda Pilot

The Pilot will once again come equipped with the 3.5L V6. However, a brand-new aluminum block and other changes highlight the engine, which produces 285 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. It’s only a 5 HP increase from last year’s Pilot, but enough to make a difference – especially with the new 10-speed automatic transmission. Previously, the Pilot only had nine gears. This combo gives the Pilot a much more efficient and smoother acceleration – and has a 0-60 time of 7 seconds – much quicker than most three-row midsize models in-class. Prentiss drivers will get FWD standard with the option to upgrade to AWD. However, the 2023 Honda Pilot Trailsport DOES come with a standard AWD. The Pilot has always had a generous MPG, so there’s no reason not to expect the same this year. 

2023 Honda Pilot Interior Redesign

The Pilot looks to have sharp cabin materials, with a multimedia screen on top of the dashboard instead of being integrated into the instrument/radio area. If you’re familiar with the Pilot, you’re probably aware of the length of the previous models and the lack of space with the third row of seats. This year, the second row has an additional 2.4 inches of legroom, while the third row gained 0.6 inches. That said, the second row of seats now slides back and forth, giving the third row the option of configuring for massive amounts of legroom. 

2023 Honda Pilot Interior Technology

This year’s Pilot has an added TrailWatch camera with a 9-inch front screen on the dash. On the Sport trim level, there’s an additional 7-inch touchscreen for navigation. On the other trim levels, the larger screen on the dash comes with wireless connectivity, allowing you to integrate Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It even comes with a wireless charging pad. 

2023 Honda Pilot Cargo Space

Aside from the new room for passengers, the cargo room is upgraded as well. The space behind the third row of seats now measures 22.4 cubic feet, putting the Pilot at the top of its class in this category. If you need to maximize space, folding the second and third rows allows for 113.7 cubic feet of total cargo space. 

Introducing the 2023 Honda Pilot TrailSport Trim Level

The new 2023 Honda Pilot TrailSport is the new, off-road-focused trim. This trim includes three skid plates on the undercarriage to protect the engine, fuel tank, and rear. In addition, the AWD model has its own tuning system – when a tire is off the ground, it sends more torque to that wheel, so it instantly grips the surface when it makes contact.
